Information We Collect

We collect account information such as name, email, adult eligibility confirmation, policy acceptance versions, and basic profile details.

We collect family information you choose to add, including tasks, appointments, trips, expenses, uploaded files, invitations, plan and usage details, notification preferences, and related activity metadata.

We also collect technical information needed to operate and protect the app, such as device or browser push tokens, sign-in/session details, diagnostics, security events, timestamps, and service logs.

How We Use Information

We use information to create accounts, operate family teams, show family records to authorized members, send invitations and notifications, protect the service, provide support, and improve reliability.

We do not sell user data. We do not use uploaded documents for advertising.

Family Visibility

Family records are scoped to your private family workspace. Members of another family should not be able to see your family data.

Family admins may manage invitations, member roles, plan settings, and member access for their own family team.

When you choose to share a task, appointment, trip, expense, vault document, or reminder with family members, those authorized members may view the information according to the access settings selected in the app.

Files And Documents

Files you upload are sent over encrypted connections and stored using configured cloud storage protections, including provider-side encryption, file-level access controls, and antivirus scanning where supported by our storage provider.

Protected documents can require KithPilot app unlock before opening. This is not the same as end-to-end encryption because KithPilot and our service providers must process files to operate the service.

You may choose to store insurance cards, medical receipts, appointment paperwork, and similar household health documents, but KithPilot is not a medical records system, healthcare provider, or emergency health tool.

Avoid uploading Social Security numbers, passwords, payment card numbers, or other information you do not need for family coordination.

Files you export or share outside KithPilot are outside KithPilot protection and cannot be recalled by changing access in the app.

Service Providers

We use service providers to operate KithPilot, including cloud hosting, authentication, databases, file storage, push notifications, email delivery, app distribution, diagnostics, and security tooling.

These providers may process information for us under their own security and legal terms. We use them to provide KithPilot, not to sell your family data.

Limited Authorized Access

AppRainier personnel do not routinely access your family content.

Limited authorized access may be possible when needed for support you request, security investigation, legal compliance, troubleshooting, abuse prevention, or service operations.

KithPilot is not currently a zero-knowledge or end-to-end encrypted service for all family records. We are working to reduce operational access over time, starting with more protection for sensitive Vault content.

Notifications

If you enable notifications, KithPilot stores device or browser push target information so reminders and family updates can be delivered.

You can change notification preferences in the app or through your device settings.

Deletion And Privacy Requests

You can submit account deletion requests in the app. We may need to verify identity and handle family admin responsibilities before completing deletion.

Deleting an account or family may delete active records and files from the app. Limited data may remain for a reasonable time in backups, logs, audit records, security records, legal compliance records, or support communications.

If KithPilot is discontinued, we may delete hosted account, family, and file data after any notice period we provide, unless we are required or permitted to retain limited records by law.

Service Providers And Security

KithPilot uses trusted service providers, including Appwrite, Firebase, Resend, Apple, and Google services, to operate authentication, data storage, files, email, app distribution, and push notifications.

We use access controls, encrypted transport, configured encrypted storage, app unlock options, privacy-conscious notifications, and security practices designed to protect family data, but no online service can guarantee perfect security.

Your Choices

You can choose what to add, who in your family can see many records, whether protected documents require app unlock, whether notifications are enabled, and whether to export or delete certain information.

You can contact us to ask questions, report security concerns, or request help with access, correction, deletion, or privacy requests.

Privacy Policy Changes

We may update this policy as KithPilot changes. If changes are material, we may ask you to review and accept the updated version before continuing to create or join a family.
